The MLB website just updated its Top 100 prospects ranking list. Entering the list is Milwaukee Brewers prospect Tyler Black. He is the fifth prospect in the Brewers organization to join that list. This is a good sign for Milwaukee because it means that they have a good farm system.
Milwaukee Brewers Prospect Tyler Black Enters MLB Top 100
Tyler Black is listed as a third baseman, outfielder, and second baseman. Black is currently playing in Double-A with the Biloxi Shuckers. He is projected to be called up to the Brewers during the 2024 MLB regular season.
Tyler Black is a left-handed hitter, who throws right-handed. He is 22 years old and was the 33rd overall pick in the 2021 MLB Draft by the Milwaukee Brewers. Black is 5’10” and weighs 190 lbs. In 66 games played in Double-A so far this season, his batting average is .273 with 11 home runs and 37 RBIs, along with 41 stolen bases. His on-base percentage is .424.

He has power, can hit for average, and also has a tremendous eye at the plate. When Tyler Black gets on base, he is always a threat to steal bases. This could potentially be the future leadoff hitter for the Milwaukee Brewers. It would not be a surprise if he was called up to Triple-A with the Nashville Sounds before the end of the 2023 Minor League Baseball season.
Tyler Black won’t start 2024 with the Milwaukee Brewers, but he won’t be in Double-A, that’s for sure. Black also knows how to take pitches the other way. Out of 63 hits this season, he has nine doubles and five triples.
The four other prospects in the Brewers farm system that are also ranked in the MLB Top 100 along with Tyler Black are outfielder Jackson Chourio, outfielder Sal Frelick, catcher Jeferson Quero, and right-handed pitcher Jacob Misiorowski.
Black will be a productive player when he reaches the MLB level to join the Brewers, but he needs to continue to develop in the Minor Leagues.
