As the 2025 MLB trade deadline approached at the end of July, many believed the Milwaukee Brewers would use their embarrassment of riches to help them acquire a big-name power bat. After all, there are few, if any, teams in all of Major League Baseball that have as many high-quality starting pitchers as the Brewers, and many believed their surplus could be used to improve their other parts of their roster.
But the trade that Milwaukee did make involving one of their starters was not one that fans and analysts thought would happen. That was, of course, when the Brewers sent Nestor Cortes to the San Diego Padres for outfielder Brandon Lockridge. Of course, Milwaukee had been without Cortes for most of the year so his departure was not entirely felt.
That being said, there were many who felt like the Brewers could have dangled a few of their young arms in front of teams in order to get a bonified slugger, which, of course, they did not. And it turns out it was a good thing they stood pat on that front.
The Milwaukee Brewers Placed Logan Henderson on the 15-Day IL

Logan Henderson, who earlier this year became the first rookie pitcher in franchise history to win his first three starts for the team, was re-called recently to take the place of Jacob Misiorowski, who is on the injured list with a leg contusion.
Now, Henderson is headed to the injured list himself:
Logan Henderson didn’t bounce back from Sunday’s start like he usually does so he alerted the medical staff. Had an MRI of his elbow yesterday and will get the results before the game today.

In his last outing, Henderson pitched 4.1 innings, gave up one run on three hits and two walks, and struck out four.
The good news is that manager Pat Murphy told reporters that initial tests seem to indicate that whatever injury Henderson has is “not too serious.”
The Milwaukee Brewers Have Re-Called Tobias Myers from Triple-A

Henderson was scheduled to be Milwaukee’s starting pitcher on Saturday against the New York Mets. Now, he is being replaced by Tobias Myers, who was recalled from Triple-A Nashville:

Last season, Myers was one of the Brewers most consistent starting pitchers, going 9-6 with a 3.00 ERA in 27 games (25 starts). This year, however, he was struggled to find his consistency again.
In eight games (five starts) with Milwaukee this season, Myers is 1-1 with a 4.30 ERA. In 12 games (all starts) for the Nashville Sounds, he is 2-5 with a 4.22 ERA.
If Myers continues to struggle, it would not be surprising to see Chad Patrick called up again. He initially was sent down when Brandon Woodruff returned from injury.
