The Milwaukee Brewers are looking to capture a series sweep against the Boston Red Sox on Sunday afternoon, keeping their first place spot in the NL Central secure. They lead the division and the struggling Chicago Cubs, who lost Saturday’s game against the fourth place St. Louis Cardinals 7-6, by 3.5 games.
They’ve been able to maintain a pretty good lead in the division, even with all the injuries they have endured so early in the season.
Milwaukee Brewers Option Joey Wiemer, Recall Oliver Dunn
After being reinstated from the 10-Day IL, Joey Wiemer just hasn’t been able to find his footing yet this year. As a rookie, he struggled at the plate, and it seems that it’s translated to this season as well. In 19 games with Milwaukee, the outfielder is hitting .154/.185/.154 with no home runs in 27 plate appearances.
The scenario was the same when he was with the Nashville Sounds. In 16 games with the Sounds, Wiemer is hitting .200/.304/.317 with a home run and six driven in. Hopefully something clicks for the young outfielder and he’s able to find a spark.

Oliver Dunn was recalled from Triple-A on Sunday after being optioned to Nashville earlier in May. Dunn has appeared in 33 games with Milwaukee this season, where he’s hitting .226/.278/.333 with six driven in, two stolen bases, and a homerun.
Dunn is batting eighth against the Red Sox on Sunday. First pitch is scheduled for 12:35PM CST.
