Milwaukee Brewers almost blew off a large lead again versus the Arizona Diamondbacks in the second of their four-game series. They built a five-run lead heading to the sixth inning with Jacob Misiorowski as their starting pitcher but then saw it all crumble and settled for a 6-5 score by the sixth.

It was the same story on Tuesday. They went up 6-0 as early as the third inning but then the Diamondbacks climbed back to threaten their hosts and tie the game by the eighth inning. This should not matter that much for supporters and the players.
Players are conditioning themselves to think that they will face adversities soon and that they need these types of games to prepare themselves for the playoffs.
The bigger story here is The Miz rediscovering his touch.
Misiorowski started the second half of the season on the injured list and when he returned, it showed that he was not 100 percent. Pat Murphy did not mince his words in describing his play a week ago when the lost three straight to the Chicago Cubs.

“We didn’t get the outcome we wanted, but we showed tremendous heart and tremendous relentlessness,” the manager said.
“I mean, Miz’s start, that’s not good enough. He lost his, whatever you want to call it, focus. That’s not good enough.”
Jacob Misiorowski is confident again and it showed
Misiorowski insisted in past interviews that there’s not much he was changing in his approach to the game but then the results weren’t there. He posted a 9.82 ERA over the last three times he was on the pitch.
They finally showed up against Arizona when he threw flawlessly until the middle of the fourth inning. He kept the opponents scoreless in the first three by striking out six of their batters.
He gave up three runs through five innings but he thought he performed well in that stretch. He struck out a total of 10 batters, the second time it happened in the rookie’s career.

“It feels like everything is finally clicking,” Misiorowski told reporters after the game.
“I mean, it’s the same,” he said when asked about his approach.
“I don’t think I change my intent on any game [or] these last two, three. But it feels good to feel like I’m back.”
The Brewers continue to be the best team in the league with an 83-50 record. Their division rivals Chicago Cubs lost on the same day against the San Francisco Giants, which means they now hold a 6.5 lead to win the division.
