Milwaukee Brewers’ super rookie Jacob Misiorowski raised some eyebrows ahead of the start of their series with the Chicago Cubs when he said that it was just another game for him. Of course, it is not to many die hard supporters of the two National League Central clubs.

They’ve got a long history of rivalry and the stakes are higher on Monday because of the fact that they are jousting for the best record in the league.
“In my mindset there’s no point,” he said when asked if he makes deep study of his next opponent.
“I’m going to have success with what I’ve been doing. It’s a lot of feel. I’m just going to keep doing what I’ve been doing.”
The day came and it looked like that what the Miz said was about to backfire on him as he struggled big time in the first inning where the Cubs scored three runs. Many things were said about him after that, like not being ready for the big moment.

But the moment was not over yet and Misiorowski somehow recovered as he was kept on the pitch by manager Pat Murphy.
He rediscovered his stride eventually as he recorded scoreless innings in the next three and retired each of the final 10 batter he faced. The Brewers won the game, 8-4.

To have *that* first inning in your first start against the division rival, and bounce back to give 3 strong innings after, eventually leaving with the lead when it’s all said & done?
I saw him collapse under much lower stakes in the minors. Miz’s growth has been so impressive.

Jacob Misiorowski on his mindset after struggle
The Miz continues to be a great watch for many baseball fans by showing his maturity and focus in an important and nerve-wracking game.
Even Murphy was left impressed by his composure.
“I learned a lot about him. It just goes to show you, the kid can pitch, not just throw. He’s going to learn from this,” he said as quoted by Jack Stern of Brewers Fanatics.
How did he do it? Just like he said hours before the game, he just focused on his task at hand.

“You’ve got this. They’re not hitting you. So keep going.”

He also credited his teammates for supporting and cheering him on.
“Keep going. Just trust that team behind me and they do help me out and they did. It was awesome,” Misiorowski said when asked what he told himself during the first inning struggle.
Cubs and Brewers will renew their rivalry tomorrow for a second of the three-game series.
