Prior to the 2024 MLB season, the Milwaukee Brewers signed then 19-year-old phenom Jackson Chourio to an eight-year $82 million contract with two club options tacked on. It had been apparent for some time that, despite his youth, Chourio was a special player that had a bright future in the Major Leagues. Milwaukee wisely locked him up for the next decade at an incredibly affordable annual salary.
And while his career is still in its infancy, many people outside of the Brewers organization and fanbase are beginning to realize just how special a player Milwaukee has on their hands.
MLB.com Names Milwaukee Brewers Star Jackson Chourio as a Darkhorse MVP Candidate

As a rookie last season, Chourio hit .275/.327/.464 with 21 home runs, 79 RBI, and 22 stolen bases. He became the youngest player in MLB history to record a 20-20 season, a record previously held by Mike Trout of the Los Angeles Angels.
So far this spring, Chourio is hitting .412/.500/1.029 with an RBI and three stolen bases. He has also walked more (three times) than he has struck out (two times).
Undoubtedly, Chourio is looking to have an even better year in 2025 than he did as a rookie in 2024, and MLB.com seems to think he has a chance at getting some MVP consideration:

It is interesting that Pittsburgh Pirates ace Paul Skenes is number one on this list while Chourio is listed third. Last season, Skenes won the NL Rookie of the Year Award while the Brewers outfielder finished… third.
Of course, Chourio will have some stiff competition when it comes to winning an MVP Award over the next decade. Shohei Ohtani won the award last year while producing MLB’s first ever 50-50 season, slugging 54 home runs and stealing 59 bases while hitting .310/.390/.646 with 130 RBI and 136 runs scored.
