The Milwaukee Brewers may have lost some star talent in Willy Adames and Devin Williams over the course of the offseason, but they are still predicted to be serious contenders to win their third straight National League Central Division crown. Of course, this is because of their young core of star players that impressed in 2024 and are looking to take a step forward in 2025.
Outfielder Jackson Chourio, of course, is the biggest name among this group of players, especially since Milwaukee ensured that he was locked up for the next decade by giving him a massive contract before he even took the field in the Majors. He rewarded their faith in him .275/.327/.464 with 21 home runs, 79 RBI, and 22 stolen bases. In doing so, he became the youngest player in MLB history to have a 20-20 season.
Milwaukee Brewers Outfielder Jackson Chourio Predicted to Make His First All-Star Team in 2025
In an article recently posted by Bleacher Report, MLB analyst Joel Reuter made a list of 16 players around the Majors that he believes will make their first career All-Star team in 2025. Chourio made his list, with Reuter writing:
“Jackson Chourio was the youngest player to appear in an MLB game in 2024, and after some early growing pains, he looked the part of a future superstar for the Milwaukee Brewers as the season unfolded.
“From June 1 through the end of the season, he batted .303/.358/.525 with 46 extra-base hits, 16 home runs, 63 RBI and 15 steals in 399 plate appearances over 98 games, ultimately finishing third in NL Rookie of the Year balloting behind Paul Skenes and Jackson Merrill.
“The 20-year-old then went 5-for-11 with two home runs in the NLWC against the New York Mets, and all signs point to a continued rise to stardom in 2025.”
Former Brewers shortstop Willy Adames and former prospect Lucas Erceg also made the list.
Of course, Milwaukee already boasts a couple of players that have made multiple All-Star teams. Christian Yelich has been named three times, with last season being his first year voted as a starter. Catcher William Contreras made his first All-Star team as a Brewer last season, the second of his career.
Freddy Peralta has been named an All-Star once, and Brandon Woodruff has been there twice.
Other Milwaukee Brewers Players Would Could Be First-Time All-Stars
Prior to the 2024 season, manager Pat Murphy told reporters that he believed second baseman Brice Turang would take a quantum leap after a disappointing 2023 season that saw him hit just .218/285/.300. And was Murphy ever right!
Turang hit .254/.316/.349 with seven home runs and 57 RBI, but made a name for himself with his defense and speed. He stole 50 bases in 2024 and won a Gold Glove and Platinum Glove. While he may need to improve at the plate to cement an All-Star nod, he certainly has given himself the name recognition he will need from fan voters.
Another interesting name to watch will be Trevor Megill, who is likely going to take over Milwaukee’s closer role following the Williams trade. He saved 21 games last season with a 2.72 ERA and can throw 100 MPH. If he starts the season as the closer and the Brewers keep winning games, he may be a name that gets some consideration.
