The Milwaukee Brewers, to the shock of everyone outside their own small market (and maybe even many within it) are the best team in Major League Baseball. They own a league-best record of 67-44 and have baseball’s best run differential at +119. And they are doing this despite consistently having to overcome injury speed bumps to their best players.
Jackson Chourio, Rhys Hoskins, Sal Frelick, Jacob Misiorowski. All have spent time on the injured list, or are currently on it. As fans are well-aware, numerous other Brewers players have missed time, whether it be a little or a lot, due to injuries.
But, ever since late May, the Brewers have just kept on winning. And a great deal of that has to do with their roster, from top to bottom, playing with consistency and stepping up when needed.
Rookie left fielder Isaac Collins has been one of those players, and on Monday he received some much deserved recognition.
Milwaukee Brewers Left Fielder Isaac Collins Wins NL Rookie of the Month for July

Last month, Misiorowski became the eighth player in Brewers history to win a league Rookie of the Month Award. Now, Collins becomes the ninth, giving Milwaukee back-to-back months with the National League’s top first-year star.

In 23 games in July, Collins hit .321/.411/.436 with two home runs, 11 RBI, and four stolen bases. He also walked 11 times compared to just 20 strikeouts.
What is more, Collins has proven himself to be an elite defensive player in left field. He leads all National League rookies in fWAR and has more outs above average than any left fielder in the game.
On the season, Collins is hitting a steady .279/.378/.405 with six home runs, 32 RBI, and 12 stolen bases.
