The Milwaukee Brewers have done a good job stock piling good left-handed pitchers over the past few years, but unfortunately some have fallen into various health issues. While Bryan Hudson, Jared Koenig, Nestor Cortes, and Grant Wolfram are all currently healthy, Robert Gasser, DL Hall, Aaron Ashby, and Thomas Pannone all are not.
Here are the latest updates on the four injured southpaws (as of March 10).
The latest updates on the four injured Milwaukee Brewers southpaws

- Robert Gasser – tommy john surgery – expected to return August/September 2025
Gasser underwent surgery in May of 2024. He has been on a throwing program over the past few months and is eyeing a return to the mound in April. The Brewers hope to build his innings up to three or four by late July and potentially be available in August.
- DL Hall – LAT strain – earliest return would be late May 2025
Hall sustained an injury to his LAT during the off-season. His recovery consisted of several weeks of no throwing. Milwaukee placed him on the 60-day injured list in early March.
- Aaron Ashby – oblique strain – at least two weeks of no throwing

Ashby left a spring training game early due to injury. His first opinion was a big murky as to the severity of his injury, but after seeking a second opinion he was recommended at least two weeks of no throwing. This timeline would mean that he could start throwing the week before opening day.
- Thomas Pannone – flexor tendon tear – at least one month of no throwing
Pannone pitched on the Brewers big league squad in 2023, left in 2024, and now is back on a minor league deal. The southpaw unfortunately has an injury to his pitching elbow and won’t throw again until early April.
