This offseason, the Milwaukee Brewers lost the heart and soul of their team when Willy Adames departed in free agency. While they’ve made one infield acquisition to help fill the gap, Matt Arnold now faces a crucial 24-hour window to sign an international infielder who could be the perfect addition to the roster.
What is the current state of the Milwaukee Brewers infield?
Outside of first base, the Brewers currently have Joey Ortiz, Brice Turang, and Caleb Durbin inline to see significant playtime time at all of third base, second base, and shortstop. Oliver Dunn, Tyler Black, Andruw Monasterio, Isaac Collins, and Vinny Capra are other options who will be competing for playing time as well.
Hyeseong Kim has less than 24 hours left to sign with a MLB team
The Kiwoom Heroes posted Hyeseon Kim on December 4, meaning he has 30 days from that date to sign with an MLB team; otherwise, he will return to the KBO. Kim is a versatile infielder, a great athlete who has lots of speed, and a contact oriented hitter. It is a bit surprising that he has not signed yet, but it’s possible that he is using the deadline as leverage to get a better deal.
Hyeseong Kim would be the ideal Milwaukee Brewers off-season signing
The Brewers are known for taking calculated risks while staying mindful of their budget. Signing Hyeseong Kim would likely be a cost-effective move, with most projections saying he will land in the three year, $24 million range. Kim fits the profile as to the type of player Milwaukee wants as he plays excellent defense, applies pressure as a base runner, and puts the ball in play.
We will know within the next 24 hours if Hyesong Kim is signing with a MLB team or not.
