The Milwaukee Brewers league leading 83rd win of the season did not come easy as for the second consecutive night they barely blew a six run lead against the Arizona Diamondbacks. On Monday, they managed to hold on to win 7-5 and on Tuesday, with several players down in the bullpen, they escaped with a 9-8 victory that ended off an Isaac Collins sacrifice fly.
A six run lead was nearly not enough…again

The Brewers came out swinging again on Tuesday, building on Monday’s momentum with another explosive third inning, plating five runs in that frame for the second night in a row to jump out to a six-run lead over the Diamondbacks. But just like the night before, Arizona mounted a comeback, eventually tying the game at 8-8.
Fortunately for Milwaukee, a balanced team effort in the ninth sealed the deal. William Contreras led off the inning with a single, followed by walks from Christian Yelich and Andrew Vaughn to load the bases with no outs. After Sal Frelick’s fly ball to center wasn’t deep enough to bring home the winning run, Isaac Collins delivered a deeper fly to right, allowing Brandon Lockridge to tag and score, clinching win No. 83 for the Brewers in walk-off fashion.
