The Milwaukee Brewers are currently in desperate need of starting pitchers. In time guys like Jakob Junis, Taylor Clarke, Joe Ross, and Robert Gasser should return this season, but even if they do they will still be lacking quality top of the rotation arms like they had in Corbin Burnes and Brandon Woodruff in seasons past.
Health aside this should put the Brewers in trade talks this summer for ace type starting pitchers. The cost to acquire some of the available premier arms is going to be expensive, but recently one trade proposal from David Gasper at Reviewing the Brew went viral.
Milwaukee Brewers – Chicago White Sox trade proposal that sends two starting pitchers to the Brew Crew goes viral.

In an article at Reviewing The Brew David Gasper covered three different trade proposals between the Brewers and White Sox that all sent the Brew Crew left-handed starting pitcher Garrett Crochet. One of these deals also included right-handed starter Erick Fedde and that one is going viral.
Brewers receive:
- LHP Garrett Crochet and RHP Erick Fedde
White Sox receive:
- 1B Tyler Black, 3B Brock Wilken, and RHP Bradley Blalock
Breaking down this Brewers and White Sox trade proposal.

This proposed deal sends the Brewers two starting pitchers with multiple years of control. Crochet has two and a half years of team control left, but he comes with an injury history that includes Tommy John surgery that cost him the entire 2022 season and shoulder issues that limited him to just 12.2 innings a season ago. Fedde is a few months into a two year deal after rejuvenating his career overseas and is set to make $7.5 million in 2025.
Chicago, who per Ken Rosenthal at The Athletic is asking for at least one infield prospect in a deal for Crochet, would be receiving the Brewers top two corner infield prospects in Tyler Black and Brock Wilken. Black (third ranked prospect) was selected 33rd overall the 2021 draft and got a cup of coffee in the big leagues earlier this year whereas Wilken (fifth ranked prospect) was taken 18th overall in last year’s draft. Blalock was acquired via trade last off-season and is ranked 17th on the Brewers top 30 prospect list per MLB Pipeline.
Fans react to this viral Brewers and White Sox trade proposal.

That proposal also includes Fedde. 1.5 years of control there plus 2.5 years for Crochet.
It’s going to be costly to get a controllable guy

I think the Brewers should be hanging up if the cost for any deal includes Black, Wilken or Clark.

Don’t like trading Wilken, which means that’s probably what it would take.

I’m not trading Black or Wilkes if I’m the brewers
