Milwaukee Brewers reportedly added a 31 year old catcher in their latest move
While not confirmed by the team, MLB Insider Mike Rodriguez has reported that catcher Jorge Alfaro has signed a minor league contract with the Brewers that includes an invitation to big league camp. Alfaro would make the third catcher to receive a non-roster invite to big league camp from Milwaukee this off-season as David Garcia and Ramon Rodriguez are confirmed additions.
Jorge Alfaro has eight seasons worth of big league experience
Throughout his MLB career, Jorge Alfaro has spent time with the Philadelphia Phillies, Miami Marlins, San Diego Padres, Colorado Rockies, and Boston Red Sox. He did not get any big league playing time in 2024, but from 2016-2023 he has averaged a .253/.302/.393 slash line. His best season came in 2019 with the Marlins when he hit 18 home runs and collected 57 RBI.
