The Milwaukee Brewers are not resting on their laurels. Despite what many may be thinking, the Brewers are not even giving too much thought to their incredible run of late. The Brewers collected their seventh win in a row on Friday, as they escaped with a 3-2 victory in a series opener at home at American Family Field versus Juan Soto and the visiting New York Mets.
After the game, Milwaukee star pitcher Brandon Woodruff, who pitched seven innings in the win against the Mets, said that the Brewers are not giving too much stock in the great numbers they have made amid the team’s success.
“We’re not coming in every day looking at the numbers and whatnot, Woodruff said following the game (h/t Adam McCalvy of MLB.com). “We just come in every day and we want to win.”

Woodruff stays undefeated in 2025 after Milwaukee Brewers’ Friday win vs. Mets

Making his sixth start of the season, Woodruff tamed the Mets for most of the time he spent on the mound. He looked shaky early on, as he allowed solo homers to Juan Soto and Starling Marte in the first two innings, but he was steady the rest of the way.
Woodruff, who missed the entire 2024 campaign to recuperate from a right shoulder surgery, finished the Mets game with two earned runs on three hits, two walks issued and eight strikeouts. The seven innings were also a season-high for the 32-year-old Woodruff.
On the season, the two-time MLB All-Star is 4-0 with a 2.29 ERA and 0.65 WHIP.
