The Milwaukee Brewers, currently on an historic eight-game winning streak, have seem to have taken Major League Baseball by storm in regard to the level of national attention they are getting. To be sure, a lot of that has to do with the emergence of Jacob Misiorowski as one of the best, youngest, and most exciting pitchers in the game. All it took was five Major League starts for him to be added to the National League All-Star roster, a decision that caused a frenzy among many.
But apart from Misiorowski and the sudden attention he has brought to the team, the fact remains that many are finally starting to take notice of what is happening in Milwaukee.
The Milwaukee Brewers Are One of the Best Teams in Major League Baseball

The Brewers’ 2-0 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday night was their eighth win in a row. They are the only team in Major League Baseball this year to have two different eight-game winning streaks during the season.
Milwaukee’s victory also improved their record to 57-40 which, though they still sit one game behind the Chicago Cubs for first place in the National League Central Division, gives them the third-best record in the National League. Only the Cubs and Dodgers have a better record, and the Brewers could end up tied for the best record in the NL if they beat Los Angeles again on Saturday and if the Cubs lose to the Boston Red Sox.
What is more, 57-40 is also the fourth-best record in all of Major League Baseball.
After starting the season 0-4, the Brewers have climbed all the way up to the upper echelon of baseball and have a real shot of ending the year with the best record in the Majors.
A Los Angeles Dodgers Writer Has Called the Milwaukee Brewers “America’s Team”

In a recent article for the Los Angeles Times, writer Bill Shaikin argued that it is the small market Brewers, not the major media market Dodgers, who should be considered for the term “America’s Team.”
“If you’re a Dodgers fan, of course, you would love to see the Dodgers win the World Series again,” Saikin wrote. “If you’re a baseball fan above all, though, you ought to be pulling for the Milwaukee Brewers.”
He continued later regarding the team’s 57-40 record: “This is not about a sprinkling of fairy dust. The Brewers have made the playoffs six times in the last seven years, prospering even beyond the financially motivated departures of star shortstop Willy Adames, Cy Young winner Corbin Burnes and two-time National League reliever of the year Devin Williams, and even after manager Craig Counsell and president of baseball operations David Stearns left for teams in major markets.”
Indeed, the Brewers are setting the standard for smaller market teams that do not have a chance to compete with the hefty salaries given out by others in Los Angeles, New York, or Chicago. They have been able to build a consistent winner by investing in their farm system, scouting the right players in Latin America, and locking up young talent to affordable contracts before they hit the free agent market.
If Milwaukee is able to make a deep playoff run with the team they have assembled this year, it will not be long until Misiorowski’s is not the only name that national fans recognize.
