The Milwaukee Brewers are 0-3 following their embarrassing and disastrous Opening Weekend against the New York Yankees. In total, Milwaukee pitchers allowed 15 home runs in the three game series, with nine of them coming in a 20-9 route on Saturday. Reigning AL MVP Aaron Judge hit four of those home runs as he feasted on Brewers pitching all weekend.
Of course, pitching was one of Milwaukee’s biggest question marks entering the season. Freddy Peralta, Nestor Cortes, and Aaron Civale were the only three starting pitchers who made the Opening Day roster because everyone else was hurt. That is, except for Jose Quintana who signed with the team late and needs an extended Spring Training in order to be ready for regular turns in the rotation.
Unfortunately, Brewers pitchers failed to answer any of the questions during Opening Weekend. And now it looks as if their already thin depth may get even thinner.
Milwaukee Brewers Starter Aaron Civale Was Pulled with a Hamstring Injury

Milwaukee dropped the series finale on Sunday by the score of 12-3. Civale, their last remaining healthy starter, pitched just three innings, giving up four hits, five runs, one walk, and striking out two. Yankees hitters mashed three home runs off him.
The Brewers certainly would have liked to have had Civale pitch longer into the game given the fact that tomorrow, in their home opener against the Kansas City Royals, they will be using relief pitcher Elvin Rodriguez as an opener.
However, it sounds as if Civale was pulled early not because of his poor performance on the mound, but because of a hamstring injury:
Add this to the “don’t need now” list for the Brewers: Aaron Civale was lifted from today’s game due to a left hamstring issue he termed as cramping.
Should know more about severity in the coming days.

As Todd Rosiak notes above, this is certainly not a development that Milwaukee needs right now. He also states, though, that they will know about the severity in a few days.
Hopefully it is nothing serious and Civale can make his next turn in the rotation. If not, though, the Brewers are going to be hard-pressed to find an answer.
