The Milwaukee Brewers announced changes coming to American Family Field in 2025. Major takeaways included the removal of 1,600 seats, facial recognition technology at gate entries, and food trucks. Here we dive into all three of those topics.
1,600 seats will be removed from American Family Field
In order to make more office space for the baseball operations department, 1,600 seats in the right field terrace area will no longer be available. Brewers president of business operations Rick Schlesinger noted that this area is consistently the last to sell for games and concerts, with tickets often not selling in this region for those events. Construction will be ongoing throughout the season, with a completion date expected in August or September.
The Milwaukee Brewers are utilizing facial recognition for entry at select gates
Last year changes were made to get fans into games faster, that included scanning a QR code in the parking lot to complete that process. This year, the Brewers will be using Go-Ahead Entry at the Home Plate West and Third Base gates. This is facial recognition technology that was designed by Major League Baseball, in which the consumer summit a selfie in the MLB Ballpark app, the system looks for a match between the two numeric tokens as they approach the gate, and after going through security those using the service can walk right in.
Food trucks
In the left field Loge Level there will be a food truck park consisting of four total options. Custom trucks are being built to fit within the infrastructure and will provide fans with fresh and local food options. For those not looking for typical ballpark food, the food truck park is the place for you.
These are a few of the changes coming to American Family Field in 2025.
