The Milwaukee Brewers are in position to do great things during the 2025 MLB Draft. Unlike other teams, who just found out today where they will be drafting via the lottery system, the Brew Crew have knowingly held the 20th overall pick since the season ended. That being said, MLB Pipeline recently published their first 2025 MLB mock draft and who they have Milwaukee selecting is quite exciting.
MLB Pipeline’s first 2025 MLB mock draft has the Milwaukee Brewers selecting the son of the Los Angeles Dodgers current third base coach
Brady Ebel, son of Dodgers third base coach Dino Ebel, is who MLB Pipeline projected Milwaukee to select 20th overall. He is one of three Corona High School players who could be taken in the first round next year. Ebel does currently hold a commitment to Louisiana State University, so a signing bonus over slot value may be needed as he is currently the 25th ranked prospect on the MLB big board.
Brady Ebel has advanced bat skills, a strong throwing arm, and great physical projections
The scouting report on Brady Ebel from MLB.com reads as followed: It’s clear he’s been around professional hitters, with a smooth left-handed swing and an advanced approach at the plate. There’s a little concern about bat speed, but he finds the barrel consistently and performed well against high-level stuff over the summer. There could very well be more power to come as he fills out his 6-foot-3 frame.
Ebel additionally has a 60 grade throwing arm, but doesn’t run the best. His lack of range means that an eventual move out of shortstop and to third base may be in his future. With being around the game, his baseball IQ is another major strength.
The 2025 MLB Draft is not until July, so a lot of movement can happen from a projection standpoint. Milwaukee has not selected an infield High School prospect in the first round since Brice Turang in 2018, but to get another one that has baseball in his bloodline would be a great scenario for the Brewers.
