The Milwaukee Brewers reached agreements on five out of their six unsigned arbitration eligible players today. Settling on deals for 2025 was Trevor Megill, Joel Payamps, Nestor Cortes, Aaron Civale, and Nick Mears. This leaves William Contreras as the lone player who the Brew Crew temporarily have failed to reach an agreement with.
How much will the five Milwaukee Brewers who settled on deals make in 2025?
Listed below are the player names, 2025 salary figures, and their projected 2025 salary that MLB Trade Rumors provided earlier in the off-season.
- Aaron Civale – $8.0 million 2025 salary, was estimated at $8.0 million
- Nestor Cortes – $7.6 million 2025 salary, was estimated at $7.7 million
- Joel Payamps – $2.995 million 2025 salary, was estimated at $2.8 million
- Trevor Megill – $1.94 million 2025 salary, was estimated at $2.0 million
- Nick Mears – $960,000 2025 salary, was estimated at $900,000
What does this mean for William Contreras?
League wide agreements were made, or not made, as today marked the deadline in which organizations and arbitration players had to exchange the salaries in which they are filing for. Teams can continue to negotiate after the figures are exchanged, but if they ultimately are unable to agree on a deal then a hearing will be held in order to determine the players salary for next season. Arbitration hearings take place in February.
How much was William Contreras projected to make in 2025?
MLB Trade Rumors had William Contreras projected to make $7.6 million in 2025. This is Contreras’ first year of arbitration, as his previous base salary was at the $766,000 pre-arbitration rate. At the moment there has not been a report indicating how much Contreras is filing for, but now that the sides have exchanged figures it’s possible that they reach an agreement in the future. If they don’t, then an arbitrator will determine his salary for next season.
