The Maryland Terrapins were looking to improve its NCAA Tournament resume against the #17 Wisconsin Badgers on Wednesday night at home. Maryland is one of the hottest teams in the BIG10 Conference at the moment.
The Terrapins defeated the Badgers at home by a final score of 76-68. Maryland was on fire from downtown in the second half and Wisconsin was ice cold from three-point land. This is a huge win for the Maryland Terrapins and they improve to 17-5 overall and 7-4 in conference play. As for the Wisconsin Badgers, they dropped to 16-5 overall and 6-4 in league play.

It is quite possible that Maryland could be ranked in the Top 25 by the team next week rolls around. They will not be playing another game until Thursday, February 6 on the road against the Ohio State Buckeyes. It will be a long layoff for head coach Kevin Willard and the rest of the squad.

Five different players scored in double figures for the Terrapins. Ja’Kobi Gillespie and Rodney Rice each scored 16 points in the game for Maryland. This backcourt has been playing very well for Maryland over the last few games.
Julian Reese scored 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds for the Terrapins. Derik Queen recorded another double-double on Wednesday night against the Badgers. He scored 12 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, and recorded two assists.
Selton Miguel also scored 12 points, grabbed two rebounds, and recorded two assists. If the Terrapins keep playing like this, they could be a very dangerous team come March Madness. As for the Badgers, they will be fine and there is a chance that they could meet again in the BIG10 Tournament.
