Marquette Golden Eagles had a bye week and fans are excited to see them on the court again.
The game against Seton Hall will not only give fans something to cheer for but also send some of the older fans into nostalgia as it will be graced by two former players who will be honored at half time.

The Golden Eagles will retire Jim Chones’ No. 22 jersey at half-time.
Chones, who is now working as a basketball commentator, is part of the 1970-1972 team which saw him receive the Consensus first-team All-American. He got drafted in 1972 by the New York Nets and had a long NBA career.
“Jim Chones has exemplified excellence, on and off the court, both during his Marquette career and in the decades that followed,” head coach Shaka Smart said in a statement.

This is the first time that the Marquette Golden Eagles will retire a former player’s jersey since Dwyane Wade in 2007.
Oso Ighodaro returns to Marquette Golden Eagles
The NBA All-Star Weekend just concluded and Ighodaro will use the break to go back to his roots.
The 2024 40th overall pick will be at the Fiserv Forum to receive the McCahill Award.
The award, created to honor the late Marine Captain Robert L. McCahill who was a former standout Marquette football player. It is given to Marquette senior athlete from the previous year.
A player gets named for honor by having the highest performance in scholarship, leadership and athletics.

“Oso’s commitment to the daily pursuit of excellence makes him a natural choice for the McCahill Award,” MU Vice President and Director of Athletics Bill Scholl said.
“An academically driven student-athlete, and selfless leader and teammate, Oso is the best of Marquette. His dedication to the University is unrivaled, and we hope he is an example to MU student-athletes for decades to come.”
