The Marquette Golden Eagles have a 22-8 record overall this season and are 13-6 in Big East Conference play. A season ago, Marquette had two different players selected in the 2024 NBA Draft.

Tyler Kolek and Oso Ighodaro were both selected in the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft. Kam Jones, another player on the Golden Eagles roster who could potentially be drafted in the 2025 NBA Draft, has shown massive strides from the 2024 season to the 2025 season under head coach Shaka Smart.
Latest Bleacher Report NBA Mock Draft Has Marquette Golden Eagles Kam Jones Being Selected Late In the First Round of the NBA Draft

Jonathan Wasserman of Bleacher Report created his latest NBA Mock Draft for 2025. There have been many different mock drafts about where Jones is going to be drafted. In Wasserman’s latest mock draft, he has the Golden Eagles superstar getting drafted by the Los Angeles Clippers (from the Oklahoma City Thunder) with the 29th overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.
Wasserman said about this selection for the Clippers:
“A career-high 13 assists against Georgetown over the weekend helped illuminate the improved playmaking that’s turned Kam Jones into a more believable NBA combo guard prospect.
Scouts still sound extra curious to see how he measures, as there is some hesitation to buy his 6’5″ listing. Still, it shouldn’t matter much for teams that buy the 6.2 assists per game reflecting true playmaking feel. Proven shotmaking and consistently strong finishing have bolstered Kam Jones’ scoring production and efficiency the past three years.”
His NBA comparison is Malik Monk. Kam Jones is 23 years old. He is 6’5″ and weighs 200 lbs. This season with Marquette, he is averaging 18.5 PPG, 4.3 RPG, and 6.0 APG, along with shooting 48.6% from the field.
It is becoming more likely that Jones will be a first-round pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. It will be interesting to see how much his draft stock will go up for the rest of the college basketball season and also through the NBA Draft scouting process.
