There’s not much news about the Marquette Golden Eagles during the transfer portal season but they got enough players and are ready to compete this 2025.

The team had their first open practice on Tuesday featuring the new players that committed to them and the older ones who decided to stay and shunned the opportunities presented by the portal.
The team’s social media account posted a few clips of the practice featuring their pumped up players and highlight plays.

The team only has one hard commit for 2025 in Sheek Pearson who is supposed to come in 2026 but decided to reclassify on Monday.
Marquette Golden Eagles will miss Ben Gold in the meantime
Old names in the line up are Zaide Lowery, Casey O’Malley, Chase Ross, Jonah Lucas, and Ben Gold who are all seniors these years.
Other returning players are juniors Tre Norman and Zaide Lowery, sophomores Damarius Owens, Royce Parham, and Caedin Hamilton.
Gold will not participate in team activities in the mean time due to his national team duties with New Zealand.

Programming note for all the #mubb summer sickos (said with utmost affection): Ben Gold won’t be at the open practice because he will be off to play with the New Zealand Tall Blacks in the FIBA Asia Cup. https://t.co/Jt9ggoLy3O

Golden Eagles and head coach Shaka Smart are returning to a new season with the hopes of doing better than the last one where they were eliminated right in the first round of the March Madness in the hands of the New Mexico Lobos.
