After failing three times, the Xavier Musketeers finally scored a win against a ranked opponent in the 2024-25 campaign after Sean Miller’s squad defeated the No. 7 Marquette basketball on Saturday at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee via a score of 59-57. It was also Xavier’s third in a row, as the Musketeers continued to move away from a brutal stretch in which they went 1-5.
The win against Marquette basketball served as a payback as well for Xavier, which lost at home to the Golden Eagles back in December, 72-70. Additionally, the triumph against the Golden Eagles gave the NCAA tournament resume of Sean Miller’s squad a big shot in the arm.
