Former Marquette basketball star Tyler Kolek is now a pro, but that doesn’t mean he’s not making time to cheer for the Golden Eagles.
On New Year’s Eve, Kolek went to Amica Mutual Pavilion in Providence, Rhode Island to watch the Golden Eagles play live against the Providence Friars. Kolek did it despite having a scheduled game with the Westchester Knicks in a G-League and with the New York Knicks in the NBA on Wednesday.
Tyler Kolek has a G-League game tomorrow at 1, then is heading right to MSG for the Knicks game at 7:30. He still took some time on NYE to watch his old team play. After going 0-3 at the AMP during his Marquette career, he said it was special to see them win big.

Marquette basketball did not let its special guest down, as the Golden Eagles crushed the Friars to the tune of a 78-50 score.
“I grew up coming to these games, so being able to sit right there watching all my little teammates play is pretty special,” Kolek said after the Golden Eagles’ win over Providence.
