The Charlotte Hornets will look to end their losing skid this Wednesday night when they face off against the Milwaukee Bucks at Spectrum Center. The Hornets have missed the services of LaMelo Ball over their last several games, with his absences adding to his team’s woes in the 2024-25 NBA regular season.
Ball has not seen action on the court since he suffered a left ankle injury in a Jan. 27 home game against the Los Angeles Lakers. Ball sustained the injury in the second quarter and after scoring just seven points to go with an assist and a steal while shooting 2-for-5 from the floor.
The Hornets lost that game, 112-107, and since then, Ball has been sidelined in four consecutive Charlotte outings, including Monday’s 124-114 loss to the fellow lottery-bound team Washington Wizards at home.
Will LaMelo Ball see action against the Bucks?
Fans shouldn’t expect Ball to play this Wednesday against the Bucks, as he’s already been ruled out for that contest with a left ankle sprain.
That is unfortunate for Charlotte, as Ball is easily the Hornets’ best player. He was also instrumental in the Hornets’ 115-114 upset win over the Bucks on Nov. 16 in which he scored 26 points to go with nine rebounds and six assists in 36 minutes. A week later, Charlotte and Milwaukee met again, and while the Hornets lost that contest at Fiserv Forum, 125-119, it wasn’t because of lackluster performance from Ball, who dropped 50 points in that meeting.
So far in the 2024-25 campaign, the 23-year-old Ball is averaging 28.2 points, 7.3 assists and 5.3 rebounds per outing.
The Hornets, who are on a five-game losing streak, enter Wednesday’s matchup against Milwaukee with a 12-35 record this season.
