The Marquette Golden Eagles and the Purdue Boilermakers were both 4-0 entering Tuesday night’s matchup at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The Golden Eagles took the Boilermakers to the cleaners from start to finish in a convincing 76-58 win.
With the win, Marquette improves to 5-0 this season, and Purdue drops to 4-1. The biggest story in this game was Kam Jones’s triple-double. This was the third time in program history it occurred. Jones scored 17 points, grabbed 13 rebounds, and recorded 10 assists.
Marquette Golden Eagles Kam Jones First Triple-Double In Program History Since Dwayne Wade
It has been a long time since a player in the Golden Eagles program had recorded a triple-double in a single game. The last time it was done was Dwyane Wade during the 2003 NCAA Tournament in the Elite 8 against the Kentucky Wildcats. The 2003 season was the last time Marquette made it to the Final Four.
Maybe it will be good luck for this program later in the season. The Golden Eagles can be a Final Four team this season if they continue to play like this under head coach Shaka Smart.

There is a chance that the Marquette Golden Eagles could potentially challenge the UCONN Huskies in the Big East Conference this season. Kam Jones also has a great chance to be the Big East Player of the Season after recording a triple-double against the Purdue Boilermakers. Marquette has a chance to be a special team in 2024-2025.
