The Green Bay Packers enter week 12 with a 2-game lead over their rival opponents, the Chicago Bears. Despite records, Bear’s week is always the most anticipated week of the season. From the “Comeback” in 2018 to last season’s hard-fought sweep of Chicago, it takes everyone on the team to power past the Bears. Below you’ll see who may or may not be available to keep Green Bay’s favorite tradition going in this week’s Injury Index.
Injury Index: Josh Jackson
Jackson has not necessarily been everything they hoped for when they drafted him in the 2nd round of the 2018 NFL Draft. This season he has managed to get just two pass deflections and quarterbacks have a 113 rating when throwing at him. Despite this, as mentioned before, it takes everyone to win against Chicago and Jackson is an important part of the Packers secondary. This week Jackson did not practice on either Wednesday or Thursday due to a concussion. He found himself on the Injury Indexwas limited at Friday’s practice, but his status for Sunday’s game is still up in the air.
Official Status: Questionable
Injury Index: Kevin King
King has been a pretty familiar name on the Injury Index week in and week out since he started his NFL Career. He has missed a good number of games and found himself on the Injury Reserve twice over the past few seasons. Last week King played in his first game since week four. King is a solid starting cornerback when he is healthy bringing in five interceptions last season. He was limited in practice on Thursday and Friday with an Achilles injury.
Official Status: Questionable
Injury Index: Corey Linsley
The Packers offensive line has a huge test in front of them this week with the Bears pass rush led by Khalil Mack. The Packers are first in the NFL in pass blocking win rate (73%) and second in the NFL in run blocking win rate (74%). Corey Linsley has been a big part of that and Green Bay needs him to be available. Linsley was withheld from team practice on Wednesday, but worked out individually and has been limited each day this week after leaving the last game with a back injury. Matt Lafleur has been confident all week long that Lindsay will play.
Official Status: Questionable
Injury Index: Marquez Valdes-Scantling
MVS has been quite the story for Green Bay so far. He has had plenty of ups and downs. From the first fumble of his career to leading the league in yards per reception, MVS has shown flashes of potential. His 518 receiving yards and four touchdowns would suggest that he’s become a valuable part of the Packers offense and is needed on the football field. MVS was limited in practice on Thursday before being held out of practice on Friday with a surprise Achilles injury. Interviews with Matt Lafleur have reported that he is hopeful MVS will be off the Injury Index and ready to play. Hopeful never tends to be a good word to hear out of coaches and I think it may be unlikely that he takes the field Sunday night.
Official Status: Questionable
II: Davante Adams
Its never fun to see anyone’s name on the Injury Index. It gets even worse when you see a star player and one of the most important pieces of the offense on there. It needs no explanation how important Adams is to the Packers offense. Adams, with his lingering ankle injury, stayed inside and worked out individually. He then gave Packer fans everywhere a scare but not participating at all on Thursday. Adams was limited again Friday but has reportedly been cleared to play.
