The Illinois Fighting Illini were on the road on Tuesday night against the Wisconsin Badgers. Illinois beat Wisconsin in the last meeting, but it was a different story for Brad Underwood’s team in the second matchup.
The Wisconsin Badgers pulled away in the second half against the Fighting Illini and Wisconsin won the game by a final score of 95-74. With the win for Wisconsin, they improved to 21-5 overall and also have an 11-4 record in the BIG10 Conference. As for the Illinois Fighting Illini, they dropped to 17-10 on the season and 9-8 in league play.
Illinois Fighting Illini Fans Call For Brad Underwood To Be Fired After Latest Loss Against the Wisconsin Badgers
A season ago, Illinois won the BIG10 tournament against Wisconsin and they also went to the Elite 8 in the NCAA Tournament before losing to the UCONN Huskies. This season is a different story for the Fighting Illini. They are currently in seventh in the BIG10 Conference and Wisconsin is currently third in the conference.
There have been no scenarios for now where Illinois will miss the NCAA Tournament. However, crazier things have happened. This is what some of the fans had to say after the loss:

The fanbase has been harsh on the Fighting Illini head coach this season. They should be good enough to make the NCAA Tournament and maybe surprise people then.

Three different players scored in double figures for Illinois. Dra Gibbs-Lawhorn scored 17 points, grabbed four rebounds, and recorded five assists. Ben Humrichous scored 13 points, grabbed four rebounds, and recorded two assists. Will Riley also added 11 points for Illinois.
The Illinois Fighting Illini will have to put this game past them. On Saturday night, they will head to Madison Square Garden to face the third ranked Duke Blue Devils. It’s a big game for Brad Underwood and his squad.
