One of the things that the Green Bay Packers lacked consistently this season was a pass rush. No player on the Packers roster this season has recorded 10 sacks. Rashan Gary is leading the team in sacks this season with 6.5.
This offseason, Green Bay will need to find more pass rushers either through the NFL Draft, NFL free agency, or trade. Gary has been on and off this season.
Green Bay Packers Fans Stunned About Rashan Gary Being Named To The Pro Bowl For The NFC
On Thursday morning, the Pro Bowl rosters were announced for the NFC and the AFC. There was a major surprise on the list for the NFC defensive ends. It wasn’t a shock that Nick Bosa of the San Francisco 49ers and Micah Parsons of the Dallas Cowboys made the list, but it was a major surprise that Gary of the Green Bay Packers made the list.
To go along with his 6.5 sacks this season, he has recorded 44 tackles, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, and one pass deflection. This is what some Packers fans said on Twitter about Rashan Gary making it to the Pro Bowl:
I wonder how Rashan Gary made it

gary being an all pro just shows that it’s still a name award

This fanbase seems stunned that Rashan Gary made it to the Pro Bowl. Parsons and Bosa will be the starters for the NFC at defensive end, however. Gary is 27 years old and is a better defensive player than people give him credit for.
Importance To the Team
Without Gary, the Packers’ defensive line would be in trouble. Kingsley Enagbare and Brent Cox Jr. are some of the other defensive ends on this football team. Enagbare has 4.5 sacks and Cox Jr. has four sacks.
The defensive line is not deep at all, especially at the defensive end. Kenny Clark and Devonte Wyatt are two key defensive tackles on the team. Wyatt has five sacks this season. Outside of those four players, coaches and players must think they are benefiting from Gary’s presence on the defensive line and that is why he probably made it to the Pro Bowl.
