Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love has been hot and cold this season. Love has not been as wreckless in the second half of the season leading up to the playoffs. With Green Bay being 11-4 this season, they still have a chance to get the fifth seed in the NFC.
They will have to beat the Minnesota Vikings (13-2) this week to have a chance to be the fifth seed. Minnesota won the last meeting against Green Bay back in Week 4.
CBS Sports Writer Cody Benjamin Has Jordan Love Ranked As the 5th Best Quarterback In the NFL Entering Week 17 Of the 2024 NFL Season
CBS Sports writer Cody Benjamin ranked his quarterbacks entering Week 17 of the 2024 NFL season. He has the Packers quarterback ranked as the 5th best quarterback in the NFL entering this week. Benjamin said about Love:
“Josh Jacobs’ bruising run game may be the top ingredient for Matt LaFleur’s January attack, but it’s Love’s live-wire arm that truly keeps defenses on their heels. He’s just such a gifted thrower.”
The power running game led by Josh Jacobs has helped Jordan Love make smarter decisions with the football in the second half. This season, Love has completed 63.2% of his passes for 3,135 yards, 24 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. He has also rushed for 77 yards on 24 carries and one touchdown, along with averaging 3.2 yards per carry.
One Interception Since the Bye Week
For the first seven games of the NFL season, he had 10 interceptions. In the last six games, Love only has thrown one interception. Hopefully, the Packers can get the good decision-making Jordan Love heading into the postseason and not the reckless one.
What also helps this offense out outside of Josh Jacobs running with the football is that they have a very good receiving core. Dontayvion Wicks, Tucker Kraft, Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, and Jayden Reed are all reliable. Love is at his best lately when making smart decisions with the football and they need Josh Jacobs to play well for Love to succeed also.
