The Green Bay Packers will be hosting the 2025 NFL Draft this year. It will be interesting to see if they will be able to keep their first-round selection or not. Green Bay will no doubt need help on defense this upcoming offseason.
They will have a lot of decisions to make this offseason with certain players on the defensive side of the football. The Green Bay Packers will probably draft toward the end of the first round in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Green Bay Packers Select Ole Miss Rebels Defensive Lineman Walter Nolan In Latest 2025 CBS Sports Mock Draft
CBS Sports writer Josh Edwards wrote his latest 2025 NFL mock draft. He has the Green Bay Packers selecting 24th overall. Edwards has them selecting defensive lineman Walter Nolan from the Ole Miss Rebels with that pick. Josh Edwards said about this pick:
“Green Bay continues the investment into its defensive front with the selection of Walter Nolen. Nolen transferred to Ole Miss after beginning his career at Texas A&M as the No. 2 overall recruit out of high school.”
This season with the Rebels, he has recorded 48 tackles, 6.5 sacks, two fumble recoveries, and two pass deflections. Ole Miss is 9-3 this season and he was a big part of their defensive line. One of the things that the Green Bay Packers struggled with this season is a consistent pass rush.
Walter Nolen would be a big help for the defense. He would provide help for Kenny Clark. Nolan is 6’3″ and weighs 305 lbs.
Potential Cornerback Help
Going defensive line may not be the worst thing in the world for the Green Bay Packers because they do need pass rushers. However, cornerback could be the biggest need for Green Bay this offseason. It will be interesting to see what general manager Brian Gutekunst decides to do this offseason.
Walter Nolen would be a good selection for the Packers in the first-round. For now, there are more projected defensive linemen to be drafted in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft rather than cornerbacks.
