It might be a no bearing game for the Chicago Bears when they visit Lambeau Field to face the Green Bay Packers but coach Thomas Brown does not see it as an excuse to have Caleb Williams sit out the game.
The 2024 NFL Draft was renowned for having a surplus of great QB and among those was Williams who was picked no. 1 overall by the Bears.
However, his performances have not been that ideal for the team.
Brown suggested that they could use the Packers game to further develop the 23-year-old quarterback.
“Obviously, part of the overall evolution of him being his best is to try to continue to find ways to help him continue to grow and be at his best week in and week out, part of it is going to be able to protect himself and also be better,” Brown said.
“There’s an opportunity that’s not guaranteed. And I take it very seriously because opportunities aren’t guaranteed. And one thing I hate more than anything is wasted time. When time is going, you don’t get it back. So I’m gonna maximize every moment I have. And so it’ll be the same process as far as this team for this game on Sunday.”
Caleb Williams or not, Green Bay Packers need the win
The Packers can still fall to no. 7 after their loss to the Minnesota Vikings. If they lose to the Bears.
There has also been questions about the team’s ability to level up their game and having some sense of urgency. Maybe they can show that against Williams and company.
Coach Matt LaFleur’s squad will face the Philadelphia Eagles in case they fall to no. 7.
If they win, the will face the Los Angeles Rams, which many believe they have a better chance playing against.
