By Tuesday at 3 PM CT, the Green Bay Packers‘ initial 53-man roster will be in place. Until the deadline, players on the cusp await agonizing final cuts, including rookie defensive lineman Nazir Stackhouse. Undrafted out of Georgia, the fifth-year senior signed with the Packers back on May 2 and impressed in training camp and the preseason. Is that enough to win a roster spot? That decision isn’t up to him, but Stackhouse is content with what he showed on the field.
Either way, Nazir Stackhouse will be one of last in, last out in Green Bay Packers’ roster cuts
Listed at 6-foot-4 and 327 pounds, Stackhouse spent five seasons at Georgia and was a full-time player from 2022 to 2024. In that 44-game span, he amassed 84 tackles, two sacks, and a 44-yard interception return. For the SEC powerhouse Bulldogs, Stackhouse served as a frontline cog.

Competing for a Packers roster spot, he has left it all out on the field. At the very least, Stackhouse has given the team a difficult decision as final cuts are made.
“All I can do is be thankful for the opportunity and I feel I did good,” said the 23-year-old via Packers reporter Wes Hodkiewicz. “”I’m just glad I was able to showcase my talents, showcase what I can provide for the team with the opportunities they gave me.”
Whether he makes the team is a close call, but the odds might be leaning slightly in his favor. ESPN includes him on its projected Packers roster as a third stringer. Zach Kruse of Packers Wire also believes he has a chance, saying in a tweet, “Nazir Stackhouse is probably the No. 3 NT for the Packers exiting the preseason. Obviously want to keep him but it’s tough to fit him on the 53.”

Covering Green Bay for 247Sports, writer Eli Berkovits is on Stackhouse’s side. He’s hopeful that the lineman’s recent social media post bodes well for his roster status.
I hope this means what I think it means https://t.co/40WC2HpqIf

The next great UDFA the packers end up keeping. Wear that number with pride. Last great #93! Grave Digger Gilbert Brown. This team is championship ready

In the next 24 hours, Stackhouse and his supporters will have clarity.
