The Green Bay Packers players have the day off from practice on Wednesday as they are in the early days of training camp, preparing for the 2025 NFL season. This is was a scheduled day off, but it could not have come at a better time. Wide receivers Dontayvion Wicks (calf) and Savion Williams (unknown, but previously suffered a concussion) are each dealing with injuries, and the extra rest will hopefully see them return to the field sooner than later.
Additionally, running back Marshawn Lloyd did not practice on Tuesday after sustaining a groin injury on Monday. This particular injury drew a great deal of attention from reporters and fans on social media as it occurred on the same play he took was brutal hit from cornerback Nate Hobbs.
And while the groin injury is likely not a result of the hit, Hobbs’ play has been deemed excessive by coaches. Indeed, the physicality of practice has been more intense than in recent years, and multiple players have been disciplined as a result.
Green Bay Packers Left Tackle Rasheed Walker Drew the Wrath of Matt LaFleur

One of biggest stories that came out of training camp on Tuesday was the physical play of incumbent left tackle Rasheed Walker, who is entering a contract year, and actions that resulted in his being told to run a lap before being kicked out of practice.
Apparently, Walker took pass rusher Kingsley Enagbare to the ground during a play, something that head coach Matt LaFleur does not want the players doing to each other during practice. After getting chewed out by LaFleur, Walker was ordered to run a lap.
But before he could start his consequence, he saw his fellow offensive players, Tucker Kraft, Josh Jacobs, Jordan Morgan, Zach Tom, and Elgton Jenkins start running the lap so that they would share in his punishment.
LaFleur again cussed out the entire team after practice for not doing enough to protect each other, and had another one-on-one chat with Walker, which ended in the coach giving his left tackle an encouraging pat on the hip.
Green Bay Packers Tight End Tucker Kraft Explained Why the Offense Voluntary Shared in Rasheed Walker’s Punishment

After practice was over, Kraft, who had his own minor beef with LaFleur this week, was asked why he and the other players decided to share in Walker’s punishment, even though it was not directed at them.
Per Matt Schneidman of The Athletic, Kraft said, “One unit, man. If we get punished, we get punished together. That’s just the way I see it. A little Coach Carter-esque, I guess.”
This is a reference, of course, to the move “Coach Carter” starring Samuel L. Jackson. During on powerful scene in the movie, Coach Carter forces his team to do extra running due to the actions of a single player, teaching them that they are a team, and a single person’s actions can affect the team.
Green Bay players showing their support for Walker in this manner, without being prompted, is a great sign to fans that their bond is already strong. This, of course, is necessary for any team that wants to compete for a Super Bowl.
