Green Bay Packers rival wide receiver D.J. Moore of the Chicago Bears went off on Thursday night on the road in a 40-20 win over the Washington Commanders. The Bears snap their massive losing streak and improve to 1-4 on the season, and the Commanders drop to 2-3 on the season.
D.J. Moore caught eight passes for 230 yards receiving and three touchdowns. He averaged 28.7 yards per catch. On the opening drive of the game, Moore caught a 20-yard touchdown pass from Justin Fields for the Green Bay Packers rival, the Chicago Bears. He had his way with the Commander’s defense all night long.
Moore was acquired in a trade from the Carolina Panthers this offseason, and that was one of the reasons why Chicago traded the number one overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. D.J. Moore also caught an 11-yard touchdown pass from Fields in the second quarter and a 56-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter as well.
This was the best that the Bears offense has looked all season long. At least for now, head coach Matt Eberflus doesn’t have to worry about potentially being fired with this win, and maybe they can build off of it. Fields have looked better in the last two games for Chicago. In this contest, he completed 15-of-29 passes for 282 yards and four touchdowns, along with rushing for 57 yards on 11 carries.
It will be interesting to see how Justin Fields will play for the rest of the regular season. Will he even finish out the season in a Bears uniform?
Green Bay Packers rival wide receiver D.J. Moore Finally Shows Out
This was by far the best game that D.J. Moore has played this season for Chicago, the Green Bay Packers rival. Moore is one of the most underrated wide receivers in the NFL, and this was what they were looking for. The Green Bay Packers rival was a headache to cover all night long. Moore will have a chance to play well against next week against another horrendous defense against the Minnesota Vikings at home.
In five games so far this season, the Green Bay Packers rival has caught 27 passes for 531 yards receiving and five touchdowns. He is averaging 19.7 yards per reception. This was a great showing for the 27-year-old wide receiver in this football game.
How the Green Bay Packers Can Defend In Week 18
When the Packers defeated the Bears 38-20 in Week 1, D.J. Moore only caught two passes for 25 yards receiving. Darnell Mooney, that game, was Chicago’s leading receiver with four receptions for 53 yards and a touchdown. Green Bay did a good job that day defending Moore.
They will need to do it again in Week 18, especially if the Green Bay Packers are going to be in the potential hunt for a wild card spot in the NFC North or even the division. Expect cornerback Jaire Alexander to be lining up against him as long as he can stay healthy. Alexander is one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL.
The Green Bay Packers have won nine consecutive games against them and will look to make it to 10 straight. If the Packers’ defense can’t contain D.J. Moore when the time comes, they will lose also.
