There is some concern regarding the status of Green Bay Packers star quarterback Jordan Love, as he is dealing with a finger issue, with just the 2025 NFL regular season only weeks away.
Love suffered a finger injury in last Saturday’s NFL preseason meeting with the New York Jets, which required surgery.
The former Utah State Aggies signal-caller will not be available this coming Saturday’s Week 2 preseason game on the road against the Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium, and even his status for Week 1 of the 2025 NFL regular season versus the Detroit Lions at Lambueu Field appears to be up in the air.
It is still good news for the Packers that Love is not expected to be sidelined for a long time, so it’s still a safe bet that he will be under center for the Lions game.
Love saw very limited snaps in the Jets game, passing for just seven yards on 1-of-7 pass completions.

Amid the concern about Love’s finger and availability for Week 1, Pro Football Focus provided some uplifting info.
On Wednesday, PFF reminded everyone that Love has the most pass completions of at least 20 yards in the NFL over the past couple of seasons.

Despite the Packers being widely perceived as a team that has lacked a true WR1 since the departure of Davante Adams, Love has managed to do wonders as the team’s starting quarterback.
Since taking over as the Packers’ regular starting quarterback in 2022, Love has passed for 7,548 yards and 57 touchdowns on a 63.7 pass completion rate.
