The Green Bay Packers enter Thursday’s Thanksgiving nightcap against the Miami Dolphins riding the momentum of a two-game winning streak and having vanquished six of their last seven opponents, and might have a built in advantage over their opponents from the Sunshine State.
The latest weather forecast for Thursday night at Lambeau calls for a low of 20 degrees with the winds whipping around at up to 20 miles per hour. In those conditions, at the Frozen Tundra, one can’t ever rule out snow from the equation, either.
“I don’t think this is cold,” Packers running back Josh Jacobs told reporters this week. “I think this is smooth. So, they keep saying it’s not that cold yet. It don’t feel that cold yet, so we’ll see.”
As the Palm Beach Post points out, the Dolphins have won just once in the past 32 years when the temperature drops below 23 degrees, as it’s expected to on Thursday night.
“I’m excited to kill narratives, so let’s go,” Tua said in Sunday’s post-game presser. “Bring it on.”
That’s quite bold, for a quarterback of a team that hasn’t won a game below 32 degrees since 2013.
Tagovailoa remains the most vital player to the Dolphins’ success on offense, and is fresh off a 317-yard and four-touchdown performance in Sunday’s Miami victory over the New England Patriots.
However, Tua isn’t the only Dolphin hoping to take on Green Bay in the elements with sights set on taking down the Packers.
“It’s going to be amazing,” rookie edge rusher Chop Robinson said of both the stage, and the potential weather. “Dream come true.”
