The Green Bay Packers have not made much progress this offseason trying to fix the wide receiver position. The only move they made at the position was signing free agent Mecole Hardman Jr. in free agency.

Green Bay had a chance to trade for D.K. Metcalf from the Seattle Seahawks, but the Pittsburgh Steelers traded for him instead. There is a chance that the Packers may have to find its next playmaker in the 2025 NFL Draft. There will be a lot of talented wide receivers on the board by the 23rd overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
NFL.com Has the Green Bay Packers Selecting Texas Longhorns Wide Receiver Matthew Golden

Chad Reuter of nfl.com created his latest 2025 NFL mock draft. With the 23rd overall selection, he has the Packers selecting wide receiver Matthew Golden from the Texas Longhorns. He was the best wide receiver on Texas’s roster a season ago.
With Green Bay needing wide receiver help. this isn’t a surprise as to why the Packers would make this selection. Reuter said,
“The Mecole Hardman signing will help the Packers make up for the loss of Christian Watson as he recovers from a January knee injury, but the team still requires long-term help at the position. Golden’s speed and ability to win contested catches make him a legitimate downfield playmaker.”
Golden is 6’0″ and weighs 195 lbs. Last season with the Longhorns, he caught 58 passes for 987 yards receiving and nine touchdowns, along with averaging 17.0 yards per catch. Golden could very well be the top receiving option for the Packers in 2025 if he were to be drafted by Green Bay. There is a very good chance he is still on the board by the time Green Bay is on the clock.
