The Packers however did find a game-changer on defense last offseason when they signed safety Xavier McKinney in free agency. McKinney was a Pro Bowl player last season. Green Bay is looking to strengthen its defense this offseason.
Green Bay Packers Select Ohio State Buckeyes Edge Rusher JT Tuimoloau In Second Round Of Pro Football Network Mock Draft
The Pro Football Network created its latest seven-round mock draft. With the 54th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, they have the Green Bay Packers selecting Ohio State Buckeyes edge rusher J.T. Tuimoloau. There are a lot of talented offensive and defensive players from Ohio State who will be drafted this year.
Their talent was one of the reasons why the Buckeyes won the National Championship this season. The Pro Football Network said:
“JT Tuimoloau is one of the best run-defending EDGE defenders in this class. The former 5-star recruit uses his length and power to extend, then shed blockers to make plays at the line of scrimmage. Adding more high-floor prospects to the Packers’ defense will help them accomplish winning more playoff games.”
Tuimoloau could be a potential game-changer for the Green Bay Packers defense. It will be interesting to see if Green Bay will go defense in the first two rounds of the 2025 NFL Draft. JT Tuimoloau recorded 61 tackles, 12.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and three pass deflections.
Tuimoaloau would no doubt be a starting defensive lineman for the Packers next season if he was drafted by the team. They are looking for players who can get after the quarterback. After all, Rashan Gary only had 7.5 sacks last season for Green Bay and it led the team in that category.
Scouting Combine This Week
This week, it will be the NFL scouting combine at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. JT Tuimoaloua is a player who could move up the draft boards depending on how does during the scouting combine. Tuimoaloua is a player who could also be drafted earlier in the second round.
If he is available by the time the Green Bay Packers are drafting, they could very well select him because the defensive line is a position of need. JT Tuimoaloua is 6’5″ and weighs 269 lbs.
