The Green Bay Packers will have to make some interesting decisions during the 2025 NFL Draft. It will be interesting to see which positions they will target in the draft after the free agency and trade period happens.
Green Bay will be hosting the draft this year and for now, they will have the 23rd overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, unless they decide to trade the pick. The Green Bay Packers’ position of needs this offseason will be cornerback, wide receiver, and defensive line. Green Bay finished with an 11-6 record during the 2024 season.
Green Bay Packers Select Offensive Tackle Josh Simmons From Ohio State In Latest 2025 NFL Mock Draft

Ian Valentino of the33rdteam.com created his latest three-round mock draft for the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft. With the Green Bay Packers picking 23rd overall, Valentino has them selecting offensive tackle Josh Simmons from the Ohio State Buckeyes. This pick would be a shock to the Packers nation. Ian Valentino said:
“I initially believed that the Green Bay Packers were satisfied with Rasheed Walker, but there continue to be murmurs they’re open to upgrading the position.
Despite recovering from a torn ACL, Josh Simmons could be the top left tackle in this class. His blend of power and quickness is apparent in run and pass blocking, making him a great fit for Matt LaFleur’s system.”
Taking an offensive tackle who was injured in the first round would be another risky first-round pick for general manager Brian Gutekunst. The fanbase doesn’t want Gutekunst to draft projects. Offensive line is a position that could use some upgrades, but cornerback, defensive line, and wide receiver are some of the positions that they need more help at.
Packers Also Drafted an Offensive Lineman In 2024
In the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, the Green Bay Packers selected Jordan Morgan from Arizona. Morgan was also an offensive lineman and this pick was a surprise. Many thought that Green Bay was going to draft a defensive back, but it never happened. The Packers can’t make the same mistake in the 2025 NFL Draft as they did in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Morgan didn’t see the field that much in year one. Cornerback is a position that they will need to overhaul. If Josh Simmons is the pick for Green Bay in the first round this season, there will be fans who will be calling for Brian Gutekunst to be fired also.
