The Green Bay Packers believe they can pull off a big win in Week 14 against the Detroit Lions. That is going to be easier said than done, especially since Thursday’s game will take place on the road — at Ford Field in Detroit.
But the Packers have momentum entering the contest, as they have won all of their last three games. Plus, they have star running back Josh Jacobs healthy and ready to challenge Detroit’s stop unit.
On Wednesday, Jacobs opened up about his thoughts on the upcoming showdown versus the Packers’ divisional rivals.
“I love these type of games. I feel like it bring out the best in me … whenever I get a chance to prove myself or prove my team right, it’s something that I always look forward to doing,” the former Alabama Crimson Tide star running back told reporters, per Matt Schneidman of The Athletic.

Josh Jacobs, Green Bay Packers looking to score big win vs. Detroit Lions
Jacobs and the Packers lost to Detroit in Week 9 at Lambeau Field via a 24-14 score. Since then, however, Green Bay has gone 3-0 with wins over the Chicago Bears, San Francisco 49ers and Miami Dolphins.
In the first meeting with the Lions, the 26-year-old Jacobs generated a total of 95 rushing yards on 13 carries. He did not find the end zone in that contest, but he’s got five rushing scores since then.
On the season, Jacobs has 987 rushing yards and eight touchdowns on 221 carries.
The Packers are 9-3 heading into the rematch versus the 11-1 Lions. A win over Detroit will improve Green Bay’s odds of making the NFL playoffs and catch the Lions for the NFC North title.
