Even though training camp is still in its early days, the Green Bay Packers are already dealing with injuries to several players. Christian Watson, of course, is currently on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list due to his recovery from a torn ACL in Week 18 last season. Defensive end Collin Oliver (hamstring) and offensive lineman John Williams (back) are also on the PUP list.
Wide receivers Dontayvion Wicks and Savion Williams are also dealing with various ailments. Wicks suffered a calf injury on Monday and did not practice on Tuesday. Williams previously suffered a concussion earlier in camp, and while he was able to return to practice Tuesday, he left early being attended to by a trainer.
The nature of his injury is unknown.
One recent injury to a different player, though, has had many fans concerned.
Green Bay Packers Fans Were Dismayed that Running Back Marshawn Lloyd Got Hurt

Second-year running back Marshawn Lloyd has already had to face a great deal of adversity in his young NFL career. A third-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, the USC product was expected to compete for Green Bay’s backup running back job last season.
Unfortunately, a series of injuries in training camp last year caused him to miss a lot of time, and he was unable to play in the Packers’ first game of the season. And he did get to play for Green Bay in Week Two, he suffered another injury that cost him several more weeks.
As if that were not enough, right as he was ready to return for the Packers’ late-season push, he needed an emergency appendectomy and was lost for the rest of the year.
Coming into 2025 training camp, Lloyd was determined to prove that 2024 was just an unlucky year. He wanted to show that he was worth a top-100 draft pick and that he could, indeed, be the backup running back the Packers envisioned when they took him.
And while he got off to a good start in camp, he suffered a groin injury on Monday and was unable to practice with the team on Tuesday.
At the time that the injury occurred, many fans expressed how bad they felt for Lloyd. But his teammate and mentor, Josh Jacobs, says there is nothing to worry about.
Green Bay Packers Running Back Josh Jacobs Doesn’t Think Marshawn Lloyd Will Miss Much Time

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Jacobs, who has grown close to Lloyd over the past year, said that the injury is not major and that the young running back will be back before too long.
“He’s going to be all right, man,” Jacobs said via the Packers website. “He’s not about to miss that much time. I don’t really know the extent of his injury, but I know it’s nothing major. So, he’s going to be all right.”
Despite being injured for the majority of last season, Lloyd latched on to Jacobs, getting a ride to practices and games from him while the two talked football.
It is good news for fans, but especially for Lloyd, that the injury does not seem to be major. He is competing for a spot on the roster with Emanuel Wilson and Chris Brooks, both of whom are held in high regard by the organization.
