On Tuesday, the Green Bay Packers expect their veteran players to report for training camp ahead of the 2025 NFL season. When they do, these veteran players will join Green Bay’s rookies, both draft picks and undrafted free agents, in preparation for what many hope to be a special season for the Packers.

That being said, when veterans report next week, they will also be joining starting quarterback Jordan Love, who intends to report to the Packers in Green Bay on Friday, along with the rookies.

According to Ashley Washburn of TMJ4 in Milwaukee, Love is currently in town to host his second annual youth football camp, which is being attended by over 600 kids. Tomorrow, he will report to Lambeau Field for training camp, four days before he is required to, in order to help the team’s rookies get assimilated:

This will certainly be a stark contrast from Love’s start to training camp last offseason, which saw him report on time but “hold in” while his agents and the Packers negotiated a contract extension. He ended up signing a four-year $220 million extension a few days after camp started.

Jordan Love Has a Plethora of New Weapons on the Green Bay Packers

Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers, packers news
Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love (10) throws a pass to Green Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs (87) during the first quarter of their game Sunday, September 29, 2024 at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

One only needs to look at Green Bay’s 2025 NFL Draft class to understand why Love may be excited and extra motivated to report to camp early. For the first time since 2002, the Packers took a wide receiver in the first round, selecting Texas’ Matthew Golden, who many believe could end up being the best pass catcher on the team if he is able to build chemistry with Love.

In addition to Golden, Green Bay also added Anthony Belton, an offensive lineman, in the second round, and another wide receiver, Savion Williams, in the third round.

Of course, the goal for the Packers this season is to compete for, and win, the Super Bowl. In order to do that, the offense needs to be better than it was last year when Love played hurt virtually all season and his pass catchers struggled to hold onto the passes he threw them.

And while it may only be an extra four days of practice, this is the kind of leadership the Packers (and their fans) want to see from their starting quarterback. It sets the tone, it raises the standard, and it shows that he is committed to elevating those around him.
