Jordan Love is arguably the most untouchable player right now in the Green Bay Packers squad but that did not appear like that before 2023 when the team still got the legendary Aaron Rodgers in the squad.

Even him knows that it felt like out of nowhere. In a letter he penned The Players Tribune titled None of this Was Supposed to Happen, he started his story by recalling the time he got nervous was inserted into a big game when A-Rod got sidelined.
Love was drafted as a first round pick in 2020 at 21 years old. He had no expectations in his maiden season but things escalated quickly during the Covid season and he was forced to do a man’s job.
He had his moments of nervousness but he credits his mother for keeping him straight. Anna Love has been his rock as he described in the article.
She also says the right things he needs to hear when times are tough.
“It’s funny, when I finally took over for him in 2023, I knew the score. You can’t block out the noise these days. Even my mom was like, “Big shoes to fill. You going to be alright? You gotta play good, or they’ll get another quarterback,'” Love wrote.

The Packers QB was also stunned with that advice.
“Hahahah. I’m like, ‘Yeah, thanks, Mom. I got you.’”
Jordan Love on his third season as QB1
Love has come a long way since that moment of self-doubt. He is now considered among the top quarterbacks in the league and getting paid for it.
He signed a $220 million, four-year extension in 2024 and was given teammates ,some of them through the free agency and the 2025 NFL draft that complement his skills.
From playing no game at all in his rookie season, he is now a starter in the last two seasons, leading the two team to two three games in the playoffs.

The Packers are now gearing up for a new season with bigger hopes and aspirations. Love said they are ready to take the next step and as their leader, he is looking for consistency.
“That’s the focus and the goal, that we talk about every day. I’m trying to get better. I’m not trying to run back losing in the first round of the playoffs. So, there’s a lot of things that we’re trying to improve on.”
Love, head coach Matt LaFleur and the rest of the Packers will debut their new look squad on August 9 for a pre-season game with the Indianapolis Colts. Their first regular season game is against the Detroit Lions on September 7.
