The New York Jets have signed a former Green Bay Packers quarterback. It’s just not the one they have been teasing fans with for over a month. Earlier today, it was announced that the team had signed veteran backup quarterback Tim Boyle. Of course, Boyle was Aaron Rodgers’ backup for two seasons in Green Bay. Needless to say, both Packers and Jets fans had some hilarious reactions to the news on social media.

Packers and Jets fans have been going at each other on social media for weeks. That being said, the news of this signing brought about similar responses from both fan bases.

The list mentioned here, of course, is a reference to the reported list of players Rodgers gave to the Jets. This list included the players that he would be interested in playing with in 2023. For his part, Rodgers denied giving them a list.

So far this offseason, the Jets have signed the following people with connections to Rodgers:
- Nathaniel Hackett
- Allen Lazard
- Tim Boyle
In addition, head coach Robert Saleh has stated publicly that Wilson will be the backup quarterback in 2023. That statement makes this signing very intriguing. What would really make it hilarious is if Boyle backs up Rodgers while Wilson leads the Jet’s practice squad a la Jordan Love in 2020.
This situation keeps getting weirder and weirder.
