If you are looking for a fantasy football sleeper ahead of the 2024 NFL season, Green Bay Packers wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks is a name to consider, according to NFL analyst Matt Bowen of ESPN.
Fantasy sleeper candidate: WR Wicks. The wide receiver posted double-digit fantasy production in four of his final six 2023 games, highlighted by his career-high 24.1 points against the Bears in Week 18. With a deep and talented Packers wide receiver room, Wicks doesn’t have a defined path to consistent fantasy production. However, with his 6-foot-1 frame and route skills, Wicks can work his way into the rotation this season. — Bowen
Dontayvion Wicks could be a sleeper pick worth taking at least a look before 2024 season
Wicks is not considered a top option downfield for the Packers heading into the 2024 campaign, but Green Bay also doesn’t have someone who can be considered a no-doubter WR1. Above Wicks on the depth chart are Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs. The Packers also still have Jayden Reed.
Wicks may be viewed as a backup at the moment, but there’s a good chance for him to convince Green Bay to get him more looks. He left a good impression late in the 2023 season when he recorded 187 receiving yards and three touchdowns on 14 receptions and 16 targets in his final three appearances in that campaign.
Over at ESPN’s fantasy football platform, Wicks is owned in only rostered 20.6 percent, so he’s there for the taking in perhaps most of the deeper leagues.
Overall last season, Wicks posted 581 receiving yards and four touchdowns on 39 catches and 58 targets.
