The Green Bay Packers are busily preparing to take on the Philadelphia Eagles in the Wild Card round on Sunday afternoon. Jordan Love and backup quarterback Malik Willis led Green Bay to an 11-6 regular season record, which was good enough to earn the seventh seed in the NFC. Philadelphia, meanwhile, won the NFC East with a 14-3 record and hold the second seed.
Love started 15 games for the Packers while missing two games early in the season with a sprained MCL. Willis started the two games that Love missed and led Green Bay to a 2-0 record in those contests.
Both quarterbacks were limited in practice on Wednesday due to injuries they suffered in the Week 18 loss to the Chicago Bears.
On Thursday, Packers fans got a promising update on both.
Both Jordan Love and Malik Willis Were Full Participants for the Green Bay Packers on Thursday
According to Wednesday’s Packers injury report, both Love and Willis were limited participants in practice. Love, of course, is dealing with an elbow injury that was affecting the feeling in his hand and his comfort when throwing.
Willis suffered a right thumb injury about the Bears.
According to Thursday’s injury report, both quarterbacks were upgraded to full participants in practice.
This is, of course, excellent news for the Packers and their fans. Love, who convinced the organization that he was ready to take over for Aaron Rodgers against the Eagles back in 2022 after performing well when the four-time NFL MVP went down with an injury, gives Green Bay their best chance of upsetting Philadelphia on Sunday.
2 Green Bay Packers Players Did Not Practice on Thursday
Because he was put on injured reserve prior to Week 18, two-time Pro Bowl cornerback Jaire Alexander is not on Green Bay’s injury report.
Christian Watson, however, has not been placed on injured reserve despite suffering a torn ACL. He is one of the two Packers players who did not practice on Thursday. The other is safety Zayne Anderson, who is still in concussion protocol.
Other players on the Packers injury report for Thursday are:
- Javon Bullard (ankle): limited participant
- Edgerrin Cooper (illness/knee): limited participant
- Brenton Cox (foot): limited participant
- Andre Dillard (concussion): limited participant
- Romeo Doubs (illness): full participant
- TJ Slaton (ankle): limited participant
- Evan Williams (quad): limited participant
Slaton did not practice on Wednesday, so his improvement to limited participant is a good sign that he is going to be ready to play on Sunday.
