The Green Bay Packers have wrapped up their final week of practice for the 2024 NFL regular season. On Sunday, they will take on the Chicago Bears in their last game, a contest that may mean very little to the 4-12 division rival. At 11-5, Green Bay has already clinched a spot in the upcoming NFL Playoffs, but will play their healthy starters for at least part of the game.
The Bears, too, plan on playing all of their healthy starters as they attempt to snap a 10-game losing streak. They also have not beaten the Packers since 2018.
As the two teams prepare for their the final regular season game, though, the Packers will be without multiple players.
5 Players Listed Out on the Green Bay Packers Injury Report
According to the Packers’ website, the following five players have been ruled out for Sunday’s matchup against the Bears:
- Jaire Alexander (knee)
- Quay Walker (ankle)
- Andre Dillard (concussion)
- Evan Williams (quad)
- Zayne Anderson (concussion)
Alexander not playing comes as no surprise since Matt LaFleur announced earlier this week that his star cornerback was having season-ending knee surgery. The two-time Pro Bowler (who was named a Pro Bowl alternate this year despite only appearing in seven games), injured his knee in Week Eight. It was later revealed that he had torn his PCL.
Walker has been out for a few weeks with a sprained ankle. Hopefully he will be healed up and ready to go once the postseason starts.
Dillard has not cleared concussion protocol yet and Anderson suffered his concussion last week against the Minnesota Vikings.
Williams injured his quad in practice a few weeks ago. Perhaps Green Bay is just keeping him inactive in hopes he will be ready and healthy for the Wild Card Round.
The Green Bay Packers Injury Report Lists 2 Players as Questionable
The following two players are listed as questionable on Green Bay’s injury report:
- Brenton Cox (foot)
- Christian Watson (ankle)
Cox, who has seen his role on the team increase since the Preston Smith trade, has emerged as one of the defense’s best pass rushers. He injured his foot against the Vikings.
Watson injured his new against the New Orleans Saints when a defender fell on it. He suffered a bruise and did not play last week. He did not participate in practice on Wednesday or Thursday, but was a limited participant on Friday.
It sounds like he will be a game-time decision, but it might be best if he is allowed to heal as much as possible before the postseason.
