The Green Bay Packers are looking to make adjustments to its pass rush this offseason. Green Bay let go of its defensive line coach and they are looking for a new one for the 2025 NFL season.
The Packers will need to find players in the NFL draft, trade, or free agency to upgrade the defensive line this offseason. There is no doubt that there could be some Georgia Bulldogs players available when the Green Bay Packers have the 23rd overall pick in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Lombardiavenue.com Writer Freddie Boston Has the Green Bay Packers Selecting Georgia Bulldogs Jalon Walker In Latest 2025 NFL Mock Draft
Lombardiavenue.com writer Freddie Boston used an NFL Mock Draft Database Simulator to determine the Packers’ first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. With the 23rd overall selection, the Green Bay Packers select Jalon Walker from Georgia. Boston said about this pick:
“Is Jalon Walker an inside linebacker, or is he an edge-rusher? The answer is both. He can play either position at a high level.
Walker could go much earlier than this, but it was an easy choice with the Georgia product still on the board at No. 23.
The Packers need to improve their pass rush this offseason, but they also shouldn’t neglect the linebacker position. Edgerrin Cooper is a future star and Quay Walker will remain a starter for at least one more season, but Jeff Hafley’s unit needs more talent and depth in the middle of the field.
Hafley loves versatility and being able to move his players around to create mismatches and add confusion for offenses. Walker can provide that while giving the Packers another defender with elite speed, athleticism, and big-play ability.
Walker finished his final season at Georgia with 6.5 sacks and 11 tackles for loss. Whether he’s lined up in the middle of the field alongside Cooper and Walker or rushes the passer off the edge, the Georgia star could become an instant difference-maker in this defense. Hafley could move him around and find favorable matchups.”
Walker is 6’2″ and weighs 245 lbs. This past season with the Bulldogs, he recorded 61 tackles, 6.5 sacks, two fumble recoveries, and two pass deflections. Jalon Walker has played for three years with Georgia and has shown improvement every single season with them.
The Green Bay Packers need a versatile defender in their defense. Walker is one of those players who could no doubt help the Packers get better against the run and also get after the quarterback.
No Player On Team With 10 Sacks This Season
One of the reasons why the Green Bay Packers need to find more help with a pass rush is because Rashan Gary led the team with 7.5 sacks. No one on the team had 10 sacks this season. Green Bay struggled to sack the quarterback during the 2024 NFL season.
Drafting Jalon Walker from Georgia would provide a boost to this defense. The Bulldogs always produce talented pass rushers in the NFL.
